Exercise Instructions

Lay down on top of an inflatable ball. Slowly rock back and forth on the ball so that it provides gentle pressure against your belly. To enhance the effectiveness of this technique, breathe deeply into the lower belly.

How This Somatic Exercise Works

This technique increases interoception - the physical awareness that we often lose awareness of during periods of prolonged stress. By reconnecting with the body the stress responses we experience diminish in their intensity.

Tips For This Exercise

Start by laying down with your belly on top of an inflatable ball or a rolled up blanket

Then, slowly roll in circular motions, focusing on areas that feel tense or tight.
