2. What is the science behind NEUROFIT’s embodiment approach?

80% of the nervous system runs afferently meaning, nerve cells move from the body up to the brain. This leaves only 20% of nerve cells running from the brain down to the body. NEUROFIT’s embodied approach speaks to this 80% of the nervous system which is why it is so effective compared to the more traditional mindset work.

3. What is Nervous System Fitness?

Nervous System Fitness™ is based on applied neuroscience and Dr. Stephen Porges’ Polyvagal Theory first introduced in 1994 - the theory that our nervous system potentiates and limits our range of behavior, and significantly influences the way we experience the world around us.

Nervous System Fitness measures:

  • the overall flexibility, balance and resilience of the nervous system; and

4. How does chronic stress imbalance the nervous system?

To measure HRV, the NEUROFIT App reads changes in finger color via your phone’s camera to detect naturally occurring changes in heartbeat rhythm.
